My work involves a slow process of foraging and pressing botanicals that are then arranged in motifs to create monochrome blue prints on cotton canvas pillows. The sun exposure plays a huge part in creating deep blue hues, the slightest alteration can change exposure resulting in dramatic differences. No two pillows are the same, each one is a testimate to the handmade process

Sarah Soleau is a Maine based textile artist. She is passionate about learning through hands on experience and the freedom to create and explore a variety of interest. Sarah teaches art classes to children and adults emphasizing that everyone is an artist and the importance of creative expression. Sarah is always pursuing her latest interest and constantly learning and growing as artist. She has been a Cyanotype artist since 2014 and still is known dabble in her pottery studio from time to time. She lives in Maine with her husband and three children.
